Imperial Centre: The Arts Center
The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences, located in downtown Rocky Mount, is one of the premier cultural facilities on the eastern seaboard. The 135,000 square foot facility houses anArts Center, Children’s Museum & Science Center, and community performing arts theatre.The Arts Center produces visual and performing arts programming with an emphasis on art education for all ages. Through exhibitions, community theatre, classes, and special events, the Center offers a wide variety of programming to achieve this goal.
Imperial Centre: The Science Center and Planetarium
The expanded Children’s Museum and Science Center is located in the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences. Each of the Museum’s exhibits and displays offers visitors creative opportunities for learning about the world we share by challenging their minds and encouraging critical thinking in an interactive learning environment. All the museum’s exhibits are both educational and fun.
Imperial Centre: The Theatre
The Arts Center’s community theatre has been a part of the Rocky Mount community for more than 50 years. The Theatre offers a wide variety of productions, including comedies, dramas, musicals, and children’s theatre, and relies on volunteers to continue its tradition of success.
